Arthur's sport was sailing in Trailer Yachts. During this period he won two South Island titles and one NZ title in Yacht racing in a yacht he had built. He later became involved in the building of Trailer Yachts and Dinghys using the cold moulded Cedar Sandwiched method of construction. The Yachts were a Hartley 18, Noelex 22, and Elliot 6.5. It is of note that one of Arthur's Elliot 6.5 Yachts won every championship race in its class for 5 years.

Arthur now after having sold his above mentioned ventures has set up shop in a peace of paradise at his home in Ohoka. It is from here that he is building punts using his expertise from his Yachting days, and is also manufacturing Joinery, Bench Tops and custom made kitchens for those customers that want out of the ordinary quality custom made work.
